What does AFF training involve?

Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) training method involves the first few jumps from 3500 meters altitude during which two instructors jump with you, holding you simultaneously by your hands and legs, to ensure that you fall stable in the correct position the whole time.

You will perform several simulations of parachute openings (touching the main parachute opening handle by hand, without pulling the handle), and then you will independently open your parachute at the designated altitude of 1500 meters. After opening the parachute, the instructor will support you through the radio station until landing.

How does the training work?

The goal of the AFF training method is to develop the skill of freefalling from the first jump. You will go through theoretical training where you will learn about the correct body position in freefall, how to deploy your main parachute, parachute control skills, airport flight rules (traffic pattern), and emergency procedures in case of aircraft or parachute failure.

In the next few jumps, you will continue to jump with two instructors. If they assess that you are stable, they will not both hold you all the time, but they will be there in case you lose stability. As you master the skills of skydiving, you will start jumping with just one instructor, and then solo. The AFF training includes seven exercises, three of them with two instructors in free fall and four with one instructor.

Once you learn to control your body in free fall, perform turns, accelerate and decelerate the descent, do flips, you will be ready to continue training up to 25th jump (you will jump independently in the air) all the way to the final step - A license - your first skydiving exam!
